LUAU AT KAANAPALI
Experiencing a Maui luau during your Hawaiian vacation is a must. Aside from the fantastic Hawaiian food including the main course of a whole hog cooked in an imu (underground oven), the live entertainment will have you tapping along with the beat. Music and dances stemming from the traditions of several countries of Oceania, provide guests with an entertaining way to learn about the many island cultures that migrated to Hawaiʻi hundreds of years ago.
Enjoy exciting entertainment right at Hyatt Regency Maui’s, “Drums of the Pacific Luau”! The sound of the conch shell and the beating of the drums, signal the start of Hawaii’s most exciting Lu’au. “Drums of the Pacific” Polynesian Spectacular (a Tihati Production) takes you on a journey through the islands of Polynesia, complete with a traditional imu ceremony and the exotic flavors of native Hawaiian cuisine. We feature authentic dances and music of Hawaii, Tahiti, the Tuamotus, Rarotonga, New Zealand, Tonga, and a thrilling 3-man Samoan fireknife finale in the hottest Lu’au Show in the Islands.
Your evening begins with Hawaiian music and audience participation featuring hula lessons, poi ball lessons, coconut tree climbing, coconut husking and finally, the imu ceremony, the unveiling of the main dish – Kalua Pua’a. Then enjoy friendly greetings by Royal Polynesians followed by a Polynesian fashion show featuring the island’s most exotic pareaus (sarongs) in creative styles.
Enjoy a lavish Polynesian plated dinner and desert served table-side, and an open bar that features beer, wine, mixed cocktails, mai tais, and fruit punch.
